Luncheon - December 2006

President Sharon Lester poses with Corporal Cesar Bugarin, who attends the luncheon to pick up the Toys for Tots.  Members brought many toys and they are under the tree.

Marjorie Abner serenades us on the piano.

Julie Brower, Web Coordinator Nancy Gray and December Rose Jane Cheesman smile for the camera.

Guests Carla Wesson and Kay Long look wonderful in their Christmassy red.

While we enjoy our delicious lunch, great entertainment, fun and friendship, we have a great view of the Corpus Christ Bayfront.  New docks are being added to accommodate additional ships.

The Rosettes, NNL's new singing club, entertain us with Christmas songs.  Sally Wakefield's husband Wilson plays the guitar for the group.  Charlotte McElroy is at the piano.  The singers are Sally Wakefield, Ava Obermuellar, Advisor Sylvia Whitworth, Donna Hamilton, Josie O'Flynn and Jo Ann Robertson.  They were so good that President Sharon Lester says agents are calling her!

Sally and Charlotte have switched at the piano.

Here is another view of the groupl

Membership Chair Sarah Miracle does double duty when Prospective Member Chair Kathy Jacobs is unable to attend.  She introduces our guests, prospective members and new members.  She handles the birthday drawing and the winner is ...

... Debra Hernandez

The Fun and Friendship award is presented to Publicity Chair Catalina Longoria (in the middle).  She and her husband decorated our NNL Christmas at Lack's Furniture Store and encourages us to take canned goods to place under the tree.  The tree with the most canned goods will win monetary prizes.  We won 3rd place last year and donated the $50 winnings to the Food Bank.

Mary Jo Cheesman introduces the December Rose, her mother-in-law ...

... Jane Cheesman.  Jane introduces the people at her table and tells how much NNL means to her.

Sharon presents Jane the Rose pin.  The lovely corsage is donated by Personally Yours Florist.

Here are Jane, her husband Bill, Mary Jo and her husband Mark Cheesman.  They, along with their 2 children, are the reason that Jane and Bill moved to Corpus Christi.  Aren't we lucky!

What a nice looking couple!  They are taking their entire family on a cruise over Christmas.

The 50/50 money of $59.00 is won by Coffee Chair Virginia Haasl.  Bet that will come in handy over the holidays!

Terrie wanted a picture with the marines to send to her dad and then ...

... Sylvia Earnst did too.  Pose with the Marines.  Maybe this is another idea to raise money for Toys for Tots!

Betty congratulations guest Dale Stanford on winning a door prize on her very first visit to an NNL function.
