Luncheon - March 2006

President Jennifer Oler gives one of her pretty smiles as she greets luncheon attendees.

Enjoying their soup and salad are Julie Schultz, Advisor Carolyn Cutbirth, Dee Gregg and Lena Maude Muellar.

Kings Crossing Country Club serves a delicious soup and salad bar. The wait staff was quite helpful so we did not have to juggle our plates.

Nametag Chair Libbie Kilgore visits with Advisor Candy Duncan. Marcia Mayes can be seen on the far right.

Here are Marion Gholston and Josie O'Flynn. Doesn't the German Chocolate cake look good?

Left to right are Marjorie Abner, Sally Freeborn, Kathy Jacobs, Susie Wright and Kae Martin.

Vice President Carol Gigliotti introduces our speaker, Jim Moloney.

Jim Moloney gave a slide presentation of Corpus Christi from the late 1800's using his extensive collection of post cards.

The slides were projected on the screen from his laptop.

The post cards were hand colored and a little of the color was lost in the projecting. Here is the famous statue that is still located where down town goes to up town (Lower Broadway and Upper Broadway).

Prospective Member Chair Sharon Lester introduces our guests and prospective member.

Sarah Miracle (on the right) is with prospective member Beverly Bross and former member/sponsor Laura Smith.

Membership Chair Jo Ann Robertson introduces our new members.
In the middle are new members Karlina Perry and Nancy Campbell. To the left is ? and Imp Chair Alice Murphey is on the right.

Lynn Jacobs has brought Marlene Super, another new member.

Sarah Miracle wins the birthday drawing... and today is her birthday!

Advisor Candy Duncan introduces our Rose for March and it is ...

... Sylvia Whitworth. She introduced the people at her table and we all got to meet her husband, Jim.

They are brand new grandparents. So is the sailboat or the grandson the "baby".

Jennifer gives Sylvia the Rose Pin.

Scarlett Bowling shows a flyer about the spring fund raiser, a Patio Sale at the April coffee. Items are to be brought to her office at Hogan Homes in Barclay Groves. (See the Sanddollar for further details.)

Next month the gavel will be turned over to the new President, Sandra Richmond, from Jennifer. We continue to have great officers and we sure appreciate all of their efforts and good work. It enables the rest of us to just have Fun and Friendship ... and who wouldn't love a club like that!

VP Carol Gigliotti passes on tips to incoming VP Kathy Jacobs. Planning the luncheons, food, facility, and program makes for a big job. PLUS, filling in for the President makes an even bigger job. There again, we all appreciate your hard work and willingness to accept these responsibilities.
