Luncheon - March 2006

The program was "Celebrating our Talent--Part II" and featured some of our local artists/crafters.  The members enjoy looking at the items on display.

It also causes people to arrive during the social time and visit.

This display is from Amy Carmel.

Amy tells about her crafts - what inspired her, how and when she began, how items are made and what she enjoys about it.  The clever pyramid purses are a unique design.

Jo Ann Robertson does beautiful handy work on linen and other fabrics.

Her blouse is made from two table clothes belonging to her mother.  The doll graces the guest bedroom in her home.

Terrie Bodine is a scrapbooker (great choice as our new Scrapbook Chair).  She also makes cards, etc.

She says that she loves crafts and hates to speak in front of an audience.  She brought her mother and sister for support.  (She did great, however, and so has added a new talent!)

Many of us know that Marcia Mayes is the "purse lady", because we own some of her purses.

President Jennifer Oler told her about a purse that she saw at a boutique.  It inspired Marcia's creation of this one.

Margie Schroeder can make a flower arrangement out of anything - for any occasion.  As the seasons change, she quickly slips in something and BINGO - a perfect seasonal decoration.  With her talent as a nurse, communicator and a florist, she is many faceted.

Mollie Zick is the quilting lady.  She displays a small one here.

Kae Martin crocheted her blue top and matching flip flops.  She also cross stitched these beautiful angels.

Wendy Freeman owns the Woodhouse Spa.  She told about how she came became an entrepreneur.

Catalina Longoria tells about rising from a poor Mexican single mother and becoming a TV Anchor Woman.  At present, she does PR and runs a Mary Kay business.

Mary Ann Gray visits with Peggy Johnson, Terrie Bodine's mother.  Their daughters had been friends as children.  Bet they have fun catching up!

Looks as though Lynn Jacobs is writing something on the Sunshine sheet as she sits with Past Presidents Joyce Seitz and Sally Galyon.

Judy Holloway, Libbie Kilgore and Candy Duncan visit.

Linda Merkel, Sylvia Earnst, Barbara Wendland and Kathy Salch enjoy their salads.  The food was delicious and the pink table clothes added to the beautiful spring weather.

Amy Camel will be moving to Alaska soon.  She even displayed her hat and mittens that she has knitted.  Jo Ann Robertson has on the beautiful shirt that she made out of mother's old table clothes.  Sally Wakefield is an artist and a multi-talented member too.

Nancy Gray won the Fun and Friendship award for April.

Candy Gregston visits with Prospective Member, Lynn Jenkins.

Jamie Holzer turns her papers in today to join.

Patricia Conner, another prospective member, holds a Sanddollar.

As we reach the change of terms, Vice President Carol Gigliotti gives a gift to President Jennifer Oler.  It's a spa day at the Woodhouse.  What a treat!

The new officers are installed.  They are Treasurer Ruby Gabelmann, Secretary Linda Sassenrath, Vice President Kathy Jacobs and President Sandra Richmond.  All of the flowers for the Installation ceremony are donated by Personally Yours Florist.  (Remember them when ordering your flowers.  They have donated the corsages for the monthly Rose Honorees also.)

After the installation, Sandra presides at the meeting.  (She grinned a lot more wearing her bright clothes as the Social Chair!  Guess she's down to serious business now.)

Sandra presents a white rose to her Advisors: Jennifer, Sally, Mary Jo Cheesman and Sylvia Whitworth.  Not present are Rita Albrecht and Cara Stonecipher.

The new Sanddollar Editor, Gwen Seeger, has a big grin, as she won the 50/50 prize!
