Luncheon - May 2007

President Sylvia Earnst gives a "Glamour Shot" pose as she readies herself for the luncheon at the Town Club.

Social Chair Barbara Anderjack is on the ball selling 50/50 tickets as she greets Pam Gordon.

Sylvia, guest speaker Debra Bruce, Vice-President Ava Obermueller and outgoing VP Karlina Perry are ready to begin the program.

Jeanne Marie Welch, Prospective Member Chair Donna Waller and Advisor Jo Ann Robertson.  The red ribbons are our Rosettes, who will be singing at the program.

Subscription Co-Chair Barbara Wendland, Joyce Seitz, Kitty Lovett and another "Rosetter" Sally Wakefield

Subscription Chair Kathy Salch, Barbara, Web Coordinator Nancy Gray and Advisor Ruby Gabelmann

Publicity Chair Sherry Kendrick, Sanddollar Editor Martha Baxter and Nametag/Sunshine Chair Libby Killgore

Prospective Member Committee member Melanie Polasek, Bobbie Sue Doye' (who is attending her last luncheon before her move to Oklahoma ... Oh how we'll miss her!) and Ruby

Advisor Sandra Richmond and Telephone Chair Beth Turcotte.  Sandra sold her house in 2 days and is moving to Lousiana, as new member Beth has just arrived and is looking to buy a house.  And ... so it goes with New Neighbors League.  We will certainly miss Sandra and her expertise.

Crystal Mead and Prospective member Dr. Annette Garza

Pam with Prospective Member, Joanne Faires.  At the close of the meeting, Joanne was filling out the papers to become a member.  Welcome, Joanne.  As the former manager of Kings Crossing Country Club, Joanne is a new bride!

Josie O'Flynn has brought her good friend, Mary Dalrymple, as a guest and Prospective Member.  Note the green ribbon on Josie's jacket and the corsage for Mary.  The Publicity Chairs Sherry and Catalina Longoria have really been at work ...

They had this sign on each table with the smaller cards as handouts.  The guests are to wear corsages at each coffee and luncheon and the "hostess" member will wear an "I am wonderful" ribbon.  Pam and Josie are now on the "Membership Rush Log".  Who will win by the end of the term?

Our May Rose is Judy Holloway.  She poses with her husband, Joe and her son, John.

Her granddaughter, McKayla Apple, was camera shy, but here she is with her mom Adair, Judy's daughter.  No wonder Judy brags so on her granddaughters.  She's a cutie.

Isn't this a smile that only a grandmother can give?

Judy has seated at her table: Margie Schroeder, Sandra, Joe, John, Ruby, Adair and McKayla.  Ava is not pictured and Ruth Williams is hidden behind Judy.

The Rosettes have Sally Wakefield at the piano, Ava Obermueller, Maico Sanchez, Sylvia Whitworth, Kae Martin, Donna Hamilton, Josie O'Flynn and Jo Ann Robertson.  They had a lively score and even asked us to join in.  (Fortunately, we were rather quiet!)

Libby Killgore won the birthday drawing.

The Fun and Friendship awards for May are for Barbara Wendland and Kathy Salch for their work on the coffee crew and also for their 2 terms as the Subscription Chairs.

Glenda Tvrdik won the 50/50.

Debra Bruce gave an interesting presentation on the work of the Corpus Christi Food Bank.  She told how they help the less fortunate in the area, work with other groups who supply food and how we can help.  Thank you, Debra, for making us more aware of this wonderful program.
