August Luncheon
![]()

New member, Lena Walker, and her daughter, Stephanie McDaniel, are greeted at the door by Assistant Treasurer Jane Cheesman, Advisor Assistant Nancy Gray, and Prospective Membership Chair Cara Stonecipher. With 10 new members in the last two months, Cara and committee have done a great job.

Social Chair Sally Gaylon promotes the upcoming social, Havana Night, which will be held on October 8 at the Town Club. Advisor Lyn Kitchens wears her Cuban outfit and Candy Duncan holds up the tickets. They are only $25.00 per person. President Joyce Seitz smiles at the group.

Hearts and Hands Club Chair, Susie Wright, reports on our gifts for school uniforms. She asks members to use the sign up sheet on each table to work at the YWCA Children's Island at Bayfest, which will be the September volunteer program.

Treasurer and Scrapbook Chair Jana Gann won the Fun and Friendship award for being willing to handle BOTH jobs. Then she also won the birthday drawing, presented by Membership Chair Andrea Tackett and President Joyce.

Linda Pepper from Driscoll Children's Hospital told about the various volunteer opportunities at the Hospital. She had the group play a special kind of Bingo to highlight the activities.

VIP President Jackie Del Nano plays the bingo with the same gusto as she plays Bunco. Ask Lois McCray how that goes! Guest, Erica Seigneur, looks on.

Lunch is enjoyed by Prospective Member Assistant Rita Albrecht, Andrea and Lyn.

At another table are Dee Gregg (back to camera), Lois, Jackie, Erica, Candy, Susie, Treva Miles and Gerry Hackley.

Dr. Vaughn's Assistant, Irene Pratap, Marjorie Abner, Kae Martin, Gloria Waller and Marion Gholston enjoy their salads.

Alice Murphy (in the middle) laughs at a joke with Christy Rutledge, Anne Foster, Billie Snowden, Ruth Miller and Juanita Powell.

Ready for the next course are Maico Sanchez, Coffee Committee member Brenda Pitz, Jean Strenk, Lettie Good, Ways and Means Chair Sue McClurg (hidden) and Lena. With their backs to the camera, are Ways and Means member Glenda Tvrdik and guest Stephanie.

50/50 winner is Nancy. Advisor Carol Allen looks ready for the door prizes, which are on the table in the background.

Did both Candy and Treva win door prizes? Carol then gives one to winner Gerry while Dee wonders how everyone at the table wins but her.

Alice wins...and then Past President Ruth Williams wins.

Sue (at the left) wonders if people are signing the donation sheet for the Make It/Bake It Silent Auction, which will be at the next luncheon, September 9, at Kings Crossing Country Club. Looks as though guest Stephanie has won a door prize. Will she share it with Mom Lena?

Cheryl Fetsis, Lyn's guest, wins as Pam Brower wonders if there are any more.
