Luncheon - August 2005

horizontal rule

These darling personalized handmade bags by the August Rose, Mollie Zick, show not only her talent, but the talent of each member at her table.

The Rose table is pictured here.  How about a centerpiece for each table next time, Mollie?

Mollie and husband, Karl, make a great pair!

Patricia Townsend, Director of Development at Del Mar College, tells us the many things that Del Mar has to offer.  We were each given a "fill in the blank" test about Del Mar and, fortunately, she supplied the answers.  For more information, see the Web Site at www.delmar.edu.

Sanddollar Editor Irene Pratap has her mother visiting.  It's easy to spot the resemblance!  Subscriptions Assistant Amy Carmel and Lisa PIttman are on their left and Mary Duncan and Bobbie Sue Doye' are on their right.

Sitting behind them are Linda Dorsey and her daughter-in-law, Jennifer (on her right).  Left to right are Membership Chair Jana Gann, Invitations Chair Tammie Mathis (the new "Mixed Spirits" Club Co-Chairs), Social Chair Carol Gigliotti, and Ways and Means duo of Scarlett Bowling and Mary Robinson.  They are all busy working since the Social Dinner Cruise will be September 17th and the Fund Raising Silent Auction will be at the next luncheon, September 8.

Sisters Evelyn Rathke and JImmie Compton sit across from ...

Mary Cox, Laura Larkin and Marion Gholston.

Imp Chair Alice Murphy, guest Linda Chambless, ??, Ruth Miller, Anne Foster and Billie Snowden visit.

Carolyn Cutbirth, Advisor Julie Brower, Treva Miles and Lena Maude Muellar await the food.

Left to right are Club Coordinator Virginia Hassl, Nametags Chair Libby Kilgore, Social Committee member Sandra Richmond, Coffee Committee member Cyndy Pagan and Mary Ann Gray.  Maico Sanchez has her back to the camera.

Bobbie Sue Doye', Circle of Caring Club Chair, tells about members who are in need of our help and prayers.

Lisa Pittman is introduced as a new member.

Ruth Miller wins the birthday drawing and is presented her gift by Advisor Candy Duncan.

Here are a couple of shots of the Dining Room.

Mary Ann Gray wins the 50/50 money.  Way to go for a new member...

Kae Martin looks so glamorous.  She said that it was the lipstick.  If that's all it is, she needs to tell us what brand it is!!!

Scarlett Bowling and Mary Robinson tell us about the Silent Auction.  They will even pick up the items if we will call them.  Same time ... same place ... next month.  Don't forget ... September 8th.

Advisor Joyce Seitz tells about the August Rose, Mollie Zick.

Mollie has something special to say about every one at her table.  She even has a mushy poem for husband, Karl.

President Sally gives Mollie the Rose Pin.

The door prizes are attractively wrapped and look colorful against the beautiful tree outside the window at the Corpus Christi Country Club.  The darling baby quilt, auctioned off by the Hearts and Hands group, was won by Linda Dorsey.

Assistant Treasurer Betty Hagemeister has the door prize box as Sally reads out the numbers.

As the only man there today, Karl comes out the winner with a good lucking gal on each arm.  There are perks to having your wife in the New Neighbors League of Corpus Christi!
