Luncheon - May 2006

Advisor, friend, and former NNL President Sally Galyon has a serious discussion with new President Sandra Richmond.  However, knowing these gals,  they seldom have these serious faces!  Don't they have on cute, bright jackets?

That smile is more like it, Sandra!  She does a great job presiding at her first meeting.

Left to right are Prospective Member Patricia Conners, Coffee Committee member Karlina Perry, Susie Wright, Coffee Committee member Nancy Campbell and her mother, Betty Hargarty, who is visiting from Scotland.

Susie has made it around to this group to visit with Gloria Waller, Mollie Zick, Coffee Co-Chairs Kathy Salch and Barbara Wendland.  Mollie will be taking over the responsibilities of Circle of Caring Club for Bobbie Sue Doye', while husband Rob Doye' is ungoing tests.  Our prayers and best wishes are with you, Rob!

Marion Gholston, Josey O'Flynn enjoy their lunch while Celeste Guernsey and Janice Andreas visit.

Linda Merkel and Marcia Mayes enjoy their salads.  Note Marcia's cute matching bag - a Marcia creation!

Members of the Couples Dining Out Club enjoy luncheons too!  Pictured are Julie Brower, Lena Maude Mueller, Jane Cheesman and Betty Hagemeister.

Joyce Seitz and Reservation Assistant Sylvia Earnst smile for the camera.

Candy Duncan, Glenda Tvrdik and Telephone Committee member Sharon Morris are in this group.  Candy says for the first time in NNL, she isn't anything!  However, she is our unofficial greeter.  Don't think there is anyone at an NNL function who Candy doesn't welcome!

The two "Grays" stick together: Website Coordinator Nancy and Telephone Committee member Mary Ann.

Vice-President Kathy Jacobs introduces our program, "Heart Disease in Women".  It is presented by Marcy Sanchez  and Pat Sexton of the American Heart Association.

Marcy begins the presentation and then she runs the video presentation while ...

Pat talks to us.  We will all "Go Red" now as we promote awareness of cardiovascular problems in women.  Pat gives us tips on how to avoid that first heart attack or stroke.  (Of course, we HAD just eaten that delicious chocolate pie and so now need to take that brisk walk.)  Information about the national and location American Heart Association can be found at AmericanHeart.org.

Sandra tells us what a great job that Jennifer Oler did as President and then she presents her the President's pin.  (Jennifer's cute crinkle top doesn't want to take the pin ... OR ... Sandra has just told Jennifer a great joke!!!  Guess we'll never know!)

Jennifer introduces the May Rose, who is ...

... Amy Carmel.  She introduces the people at her table and tells how much NNL has meant to her.  She moves to Kodiak, Alaska next month and we will really miss her bright smile and talents.

Here are Amy and her husband Mark.  They met in college and, since Mark is a Coast Guard pilot, they have moved around quite a bit.  We are so glad that Corpus Christi was one of Mark's assignments!  (Thanks to Personally Yours for the lovely corsage.)

Amy brought the beautiful flowers for each person at her table.  The group is Susie, Irene Pratap, Advisor Jennifer ...

Invitations Chair Tammie Mathis, Nancy ...

Nancy (again - but, who could resist a hug from Mark!), Amy, and Sunshine Chair Jo Ann Robertson.

Sandra presents Amy with the Rose pin.  (You're getting good at that, Sandra!)

Our Treasurers, Assistant Linda Dorsey and "The Big Chief" Ruby Gabelmann, have to work during the program.  Hope they got to eat the great lunch!

Prospective Member Chair Alma Grady introduces our prospective members and guests.

In the absence of Ways and Means Chair Carol Gigliotti, Tammie wears another hat and tells us about the September Bazaar, featuring items for sale, handcrafted by our members.

Social Committee member Wendy Freeman asks for suggestions for the fall Social.  She has cards for members to give their suggestions.

The May birthday drawing was won by Joan Stobie.  The bag even matches her outfit!   Membership Chair Sharon Lester, standing behind Joan, has just made the presentation.  Sharon also introduced our three new members: Lynn Jenkins, Jamie Holzer and Melanie Lee.

Julie Schultz won the 50/50 price of $50.00.  (She also won a door prize.  This must be your lucky day, Julie!)
