Cheryl Beaudreault, NNL's National President, visits from Atlanta, Georgia. She and President Sylvia Earnst had never met, but felt they were great friends after phone and e-mail communications.

There were lots of October birthdays present, but the winner of the Birthday Drawing is Mary Robinson.
President Sylvia gives her Farewell speech. She has certainly taught us that "Strangers are friends waiting to happen". What a great job she has done this term! Look for her as Prospective Member Chair next term and we'll see strangers join our club and become our new friends!
Sylvia thanks her Officers and Advisors with a gift. Secretary Sharon Blair and Treasurer Terrie Bodine are pictured. Vice-President Ava Obermueller is recoving from recent surgery. The club appreciates all of you!
Candy Duncan reads a letter that our Corpus Christi chapter submitted to the National New Neighbors League nominating our 2006 Rose of the Year Jennifer Oler to be selected as the National 2006 Rose. AND ... she was selected as the winner. We now realize why National President Cheryl Beaudreault has come to Corpus Christi and why Jennifer has brought her husband Pat. What an honor, Jennifer.

Jennifer is also given a rose corsage and she thanks all of the club members who have made this award possible.
Cheryl also conducts the Installation of Officers for the November 2007 - April 2008 term. They are President Cherl Hinton, Vice-President Catalina Longoria, Secretary Sally Escobar and (not pictured) Vice-President Kathy Peoples. Candy assists with the Installation. Cheryl tells us about the importance of each member of the New Neighbors League by relating a story about geese and how their flight is dependent on the group.

VIP Club President Jackie Del Nano announces that the VIP club will have their fall luncheon at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 23 at the Corpus Christi Country Club. There will also be a Holiday Bazaar so this will be an event NOT to miss. All guests are welcome.
Sylvia is presented gifts in recognition for her work as President. Their faces show just how much fun the club has as Sylvia, Cherl and Cat "laugh it up".
Charlotte McElroy is the winner of the 50/50 money as she shows her winning ticket.
Alice Murphy just missed winning the 50/50, but she won the first door prize. Lucky gal!
A reception is held for Jennifer and Cheryl with cake and champagne. The decorated cake says "National New Neighbor of the Year. Congratulations Jennifer Oler".
